Substance Use Disorder Treatment
We provide outpatient therapy to help individuals understand why they may be struggling with addiction and that they are not alone. Our outpatient treatment focuses heavily on individual and group therapy sessions with discussions around a wide array of mental health and addiction topics. We facilitate these conversations for individuals in all stages of their recovery journey as they work towards a substance-free life.
Mental Health Services
UCS Healthcare offers outpatient mental health services including counseling, psychotherapy and more. Our certified therapists understand that each patient is unique and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health therapy. Our professionals create a tailored treatment plan for every individual we work with at UCS. They have vast experiences treating individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, family and marriage issues, stress, trauma, sexual abuse, and more.
Once a therapist evaluates an individual, our full team comes together to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. Our goal for each patient is to work towards a more productive, fulfilling life with the tools to manage their health challenges. We also work on goal setting to help people work through their treatment plan and track their progress.
Mental Health Therapy for Co-Occurring Disorder
At UCS Healthcare, we take an integrated approach towards treating individuals with co-occurring disorder. Co-occurring disorder exists when someone has mental illness and substance use disorders, which is very common. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, about 50 percent of people who struggle with mental illness also have substance use disorders.
We believe the best way to treat a person is to take into consideration all of the circumstances. Instead of treating one disorder at a time, we treat people. This approach has proved to be incredibly effective in allowing patients to work toward recovery. To learn more about our approach to co-occurring disorder, contact us.
Medication Assisted Treatment in Ankeny (Available Soon!)
As a certified Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), we are one of the few organizations in the state of Iowa that can administer medication to help individuals struggling with addictions. Opioid and alcohol detoxification and recovery come with many physical symptoms that may make it a difficult process. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) relieves some of the symptoms that often cause individuals to relapse.
Medication Assisted Treatment for Overcoming Addiction (Available Soon!)
OTP certified organizations use MAT to help individuals struggling with addiction by reducing their cravings and symptoms through the use of medication. Introducing certain medications, under doctor supervision, has helped many individuals successfully live in recovery.
We administer a number of medications that help limit withdrawal symptoms. The medications used in MAT help to reduce the physical pain of withdrawal, symptoms associated with detoxing including high blood pressure, anxiety, depression and more.
Our Integrated Approach
At UCS Healthcare, we’ve based our treatment philosophy on the integrated approach. This means we treat people as a whole with a plan that addresses all of their needs. Integrated health care means our teams form personal, meaningful relationships with the people they come in contact with. We understand each patient's struggles and strengths, and we learn how to work with each patient to ensure their success.
