Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient therapy services at UCS are a key part of our integrated treatment philosophy. Patients begin to discover the root causes behind substance use disorders and addiction and work with their counseling and therapy team to develop an individual plan for living in recovery. Outpatient therapy services are available at UCS for individual sessions and in group therapy settings covering a wide variety of topics. Achieving Your Potential: Self-esteem and Beyond

This is a group that will explore self-esteem and self-confidence, self-acceptance, self-satisfaction and learning who you are as a person after getting clean and sober.

Anger Management Group

This group targets the physiological responses of anger and provides strategies to manage responses to increase successful outcomes.

Co-Dependency Group

A group focused on understanding what co-dependent behavior is and how to manage difficult relationships.

Co-Occurring Coping Skills Group

This is an open process group to talk anything that you are encountering as you move through the recovery process

Communication Skills

This group targets improvement of communication skills to include roadblocks, styles, and repairing relationships.

Conflict Resolution

This group helps you to think about how you react to conflict and learn skills to strengthen impulse control when faced with conflict.

Continuing Care Group

Group is intended for those stabilized in recovery to gain supports and insight into recovery process.

Early Recovery Skills

Group focus is to help individuals understand various aspects of addiction including stages and strategies of early recovery efforts.

LGBT Group

This group focuses on the specific concerns, challenges and needs of people who are working in recovery that identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

Life Skills

Group focus is on learning or relearning the skills associated with managing and living a better quality of life.

Living in Balance

In this group you will explore your substance use and develop coping skills to be able to better handle your substance use.

Living with Children

This group focuses on learning the impact that substance abuse or addiction has on the family, particularly parent-children relationships

Men’s Group

All male clients are invited to this group to focus specifically on men's issues and how they relate to recovery.

Mindfulness Relapse Prevention

Not your ordinary relapse prevention group. This group focuses on using mindfulness strategies and ways to quiet the triggers and cravings.

Orientation Group

The group reviews policies, procedures and expectations at United Community Services, Inc. One-time attendance is expected.

Recovery in the Community

An introductory group that invites participants to explore whether or not the 12-steps could be helpful in their recovery.

Recovery/Probation and Parole

Group focus is for those who have historically struggled with addiction and legal involvement. Group highlights how to change thinking processes to encourage effectiveness.

Relapse Prevention Formal Program

Four week group, specifically designed for those who have had a period of recovery and are struggling with relapse issues. This program is by referral only.

Relapse Prevention Skills

This group is designed to help cope with both early recovery and develop insight into strategies to prevent relapses from occurring. This is the second-part of Early Recovery Skills.

SAGE/Process

Five week addiction education curriculum shared in a process-style group. Patients must have a referral to attend this group.

Sober Recreation

Group focuses on early recovery activities to help increase the number of pleasurable-activities one may have lost during their addiction.

Spanish Group

This is a Spanish-speaking group facilitated by a bi-lingual counselor focusing on early recovery and relapse prevention skills.

Talking About Change (Referral Only)

Talking about change is designed for those who might be contemplating a change in their use patterns but might not yet be ready to engage in more intensive treatment.

Topic Diversity

This process group explores how cultures and backgrounds impact recovery.

Trauma and Recovery

A skills-based group focusing on the improvement of symptoms related to substance use disorders and the impact of any situation that has caused great distress and disruption to life.

Women’s Group

All female clients are invited to participate in a discussion about recovery and women-specific issues and strategies pertinent in developing support and healthy lifestyles
